Growth

Burlington continues to grow and change, and Ward 5 holds many areas where much of that growth will occur. It is very important that we find ways to preserve what made Burlington so great in the past, and what makes our city great now as we continue to grow into the future. We need to ensure that city plans protect existing communities while building and creating new ones.  There are some serious challenges to balancing the protection the character of an area, its greenspace, wildlife, and environmental health with  creating new residential and commercial spaces, while improving transportation, and access to goods and services. This is an area of concern to many residents, and I will work to understand the intricacies of this balancing act, share this information with you, and represent all of us at City Council.
